What did I learn this week?

What the heck have you been doing?

Well it has been a VERY busy month what with Christmas and everything else. Also, W has hit the stage where he wakes up every time I put him down asleep, so I end up having him sleep in arms in the evening. As a result, about the only activity I can engage in during the evening is TV watching or reading.

Christmas was really great. We had present opening at home, and C loved her gifts – a scooter, two new dolls who can be dressed and undressed – Belinda (a.k.a. Lotta), and Tasha – who came from one of my favourite stores – Super Chance consignment), and lots and lots of new books! Corey and I decided not to buy gifts for each other, which both of us enjoyed very much. But, we greatly enjoyed the recycled gift we got from my mom and dad – dad’s old digital video camera (yay!).

Today I went out to buy the gift for myself that I have wanted for the last 4 years – a new sewing machine. I am now the very proud owner of a Janome 4100 QDC. Luckily, it comes with lessons on how to use it. Given that I haven’t used a sewing machine since the 1980’s, I definitely need those.

  1. That’s exciting about the sewing machine! One of my new year’s resolutions is to do at least 5 projects with my sewing machine and serger.

And, just so you know, Fabricland is having a massive sale Jan 1/2.

  2. Wow…sounds like we should make a “playdate” at Fabricland. Alternatively, we could go on January 1 and get Sterling and Corey to take the girls and just take Wolfie along in the stroller with some appropriately engrossing baby toys!
